O que e Liquidacao?
O que e Liquidacao?
Liquidation is the forced closure of seu trading position by o exchange when sua margem balance falls below the maintenance margin requirement. Quando voce are liquidated, you lose most or all of a margem allocated to that position. It is one of o mais significant risks in leveraged trading.
When Does Liquidation Happen?
Liquidation occurs when the unrealized loss on sua posicao consumes sua margem down to the maintenance margin level. The exact preco de liquidacao depende de three factors:
- Your preco de entrada: Where you opened a posicao.
- Your leverage: Altaer leverage means a closer preco de liquidacao.
- The maintenance margin rate: Set by o exchange.
Exemplo with a long position:
You open a long position on ETH at $2,000 with 10x leverage using $100 margin (position size: $1,000).
- With a typical 0.5% maintenance margin rate, your maintenance margin is $5.
- Your position can absorb approximately $95 in losses before liquidation.
- A $95 loss on a $1,000 position equals a 9.5% price drop.
- Your preco de liquidacao is approximately $1,810.
With 5x leverage and $100 margin, o mesmo math gives you roughly an 18% buffer, meaning liquidation would occur around $1,640.
The Liquidation Process
When the preco mark reaches your preco de liquidacao, o exchange takes over:
- O exchange closes sua posicao at the current market price.
- A liquidation fee is charged (typically 0.5%-1% of a posicao size).
- Remaining margin after a taxa, if any, is returned to sua conta.
- If losses exceed sua margem, the insurance fund covers a diferenca (on most exchanges).
Nota que liquidation e calculado using the preco mark, not o ultimo traded price. This protects traders from manipulation-driven liquidations caused by momentary price spikes.
How to Prevent Liquidation
1. Use Baixaer Leverage
This is the simplest and most effective prevention method. Baixaer leverage gives sua posicao more room to breathe.
| Leverage | Approximate Liquidation Distance |
|---|---|
| 2x | ~50% price move |
| 3x | ~33% price move |
| 5x | ~20% price move |
| 10x | ~10% price move |
| 20x | ~5% price move |
2. Set Stop-Loss Orders
Place a stop-loss order above your preco de liquidacao. This automatically closes sua posicao at a predetermined loss level, preventing liquidation. A good rule of thumb is to set your stop-loss at least 2-3% above your preco de liquidacao.
3. Monitor Your Margin Ratio
Keep an eye on sua margem ratio. Most exchanges show this as a percentage. When it approaches 100%, voce esta close to liquidation.
4. Add More Margin
If sua posicao is moving against you, voce pode add more margin to push your preco de liquidacao further away. This buys time mas tambem increases your potential total loss.
5. Reduce Position Size
You can partially close sua posicao para reduzir your exposure and improve sua margem ratio.
6. Avoid Overexposure
Do not put all seu capital into a single leveraged position. Keep reserves to either add margin or absorb losses from liquidation.
Liquidation and Grid Bots
Grid bots face a unique liquidation challenge porque oy accumulate positions as o preco se move. In a long grid bot:
- As o preco cai, o bot compra at each nivel de grid.
- Each purchase adds to the total position size.
- The combined position increases the overall risco de liquidacao.
E por isso que grid bots should be configured with conservative leverage and sufficient capital to cover the maximum possible position size (all nivel de grids filled). O grid break feature acts as a safety mechanism, shutting down o bot when o preco se move outside the faixa de grid before liquidation can occur.
Resumo
- Liquidation is the forced closure of sua posicao when margin falls below the maintenance requirement, calculated using the preco mark.
- Baixaer leverage is o mais effective way para prevenir liquidation, with 2x giving approximately 50% buffer versus 10x giving only 10%.
- Grid bots accumulate positions as price moves against them, making conservative leverage and grid break protection essential para evitar liquidation.
